While most of eastern North America has had continuous development over the past 200 years, the Florida Keys-while discovered much earlier--remained undeveloped until the middle of the twentieth century. The fact that the Keys were largely overlooked for so long allowed for the preservation of the area's natural environment and it's subsequent appeal to visitors from all over the world. Drawn by pristine tropical surroundings, relaxed island living and extraordinary opportunities for water sports for the novice and professional alike, the Keys are truly a vacation paradise.

Rich in beauty and history, the Tavernier area is admired by boaters, anglers and water sport enthusiasts of all kinds. Its easy access to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Florida Bay allows for a myriad of activities: diving, snorkeling, fishing, swimming, water skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, kayaking, bird watching, eco-touring and much more. But its setting and climate also allows for relaxation in beautiful style...
